I've just been landed in it. My employer had just secured some work in the UK, unbeknownst to myself. I've to pull together information for the Prinicpal Contractor by close of business tomorrow.

I'm firefighting here & have limited knowledge of UK/CDM requirements. A colleague has informed me that the system is somewhat similar to our own Constr Regs here in Eire.

I'm intending modifying our Company Safety Statement & Site Specific EHS plan to the CDM requirements i.e. include all relevant legislative references. Anyone with CDM experience from Irish jurisdiction who can guide me here. Are both systems quite similar from the contractor responsibilty side. Am I just going to make a pigs ear of things....

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated...

the logic and systems of management are the same the differences tend to be certain words and meanings

down load both sets of laws from the web and evaluate; then tweak what you have got to ref CDM - this will give you a good starter

Note: If the works are at a value of £300K and more then SWMPR also comes into play. But concentrate on what you have been asked to do in the first place
