I am researching control measures for adjusting hinged forks on a teleporter. It has come to my mind that padded gloves will offer the operative further protection from nipping hands and fingers between the forks and the carriage. Do such a thing exist?

Consider the dynamics of this. A padded glove can protect against minor impact, but will provide almost no protection against crushing by large, heavy objects such as you describe.
