The MAC tool is HSE copyright; you could try this: https://www.hse.gov.uk/forms/mac/macscore.pdf

Indeed..but if anyone could pass one on to me that may be 'magically' changed so it can be modified and saved, send one over to me.

Boh,
Not sure I understand your query. The MAC Tool is just that, a tool. it is a systematic approach to the identification and assessment of risk. By means of numbers and colour codes it enables you to assess risk, identifying the most significant contributors to the overall risk scores and thus allowing you prioritise your action.

There isn't an "answer". You "process" all your manual handling activities using the MAC. And the answers will tell you which ones are the most risky/dangerous and indicate what factors need to be controlled in order to reduce the risk.

Correct you dont understand.

Once completed it can only be printed not saved to your hard drive and kept as an electronic form.

A couple of years ago I had a copy which had been 'cracked' to allow this and save paper etc.

Does anyone have such copy?

Gracias

This is a copyright issue referring to adobe.

You need to purchase an upgrade to adobe reader - big cost

OR use a shareware third party equivalent so you can legally save the file!

Search goggle for "pdf opensource"

hope that helps

**FAO mods - I don't think this is a copyright issue from the HSE's point of view and although the poster implies copyright breach I don't think it does.

It might be easier and simpler to just knock up a look-alike spreadsheet version. It only required basic formulas and a bit of conditional formatting.

PS don't forget that the HSE website also includes online training for using the tool.

However - be aware.

The MAC assessment tool is NOT a manual handling risk assessment, it's ONLY a screening tool. It is designed to highlight potential high risk activities that require a FULL assessment. I know of a number of companies that have incorrectly used the tool as their sole MH Assessment.

All the best,

TonyB.
