Boh,
I think you may find that OSHA is also an acronym for a foreign equivelant to the HSE (American - Occupational Safety & Health Agency)

From the wrong side of the pond...
OSHA reportable refers to the USA federal health and safety rule 29 CFR 1904
http://www.osha.gov/recordkeeping/index.html
Most business are required to keep records of work related health and safety injuries or illness, but the RIDDOR concept of the 3 day reportable is not involved.
Basically you must keep a log of the following work related events (but only involving employees, not visitors or contractors):
Injury or illness diagnosed by a doctor
Days Away From Work
Restricted Work Activity
Transfer to another job because the injury or illness prevents the employee from the regular job
Medical treatment beyond first aid
Loss of consciousness
Death
Only death and injury of more than three employees are reportable directly to the agency.
"...Basic requirement. Within eight (8) hours after the death of any employee from a work-related incident or the in-patient hospitalization of three or more employees as a result of a work-related incident, you must orally report the fatality/multiple hospitalization by telephone or in person to the Area Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Department of Labor, that is nearest to the site of the incident. You may also use the OSHA toll-free central telephone number, 1-800-321-OSHA (1-800-321-6742)."
Be glad to discuss more, I am USA based.
regards,
George B
