Just a quick one..
Can you define a Duty of Care in a short paragraph that is simple enough for a fairly uneducated person to understand?
My mind is refusing to go simple this morning!

Every employee has a duty while at work to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with the employer, in so far as is necessary, to enable the employer or any other person to comply with a duty or requirement imposed by health and safety law.

Look after your work mates and anyone else who may be around, above or below you. Think about what you are doing. Don't do anything that may harm them.

However the wonderful world of regulation has other uses of the term "Duty of Care" to contend with and the other appropriate definition for construction operatives is
"Make sure you put your waste in the right skip and get the ticket when it leaves site"
