Posted By STEPHEN81 Sorry about my confusion in this matter - hoping the guru's here might be able to help me. I have asked IOSH for an answer in this, but as yet no answer... ....am I eligible for Tech IOSH?
In January 2005 I joined the Ramp Side Safety Committee (Aerospace/Military), and was a member of a Safety Committee (Chemical) until December 2008. In 2008 I also got Credits in both my NEBOSH General Certificate & NEBOSH Environmental Diploma....Now currently working in a new job since January 2009 as a SHE Co-ordinator (Chemical).

Posted By Gordon To qualify for Tech IOSH status you need to hold at least the NGC which you do have, you also need to have at least 5 years H&S experience.
Being in a safety committee will satisfy this requirement, however it will depend on what activities you carried out as a member that will determine whether you qualify.
Looking at your dates Jan 05->Jan 09 you are 1 year out.
You'll need to apply to IOSH to be an affiliate member to start off then apply to upgrade your membership to Tech, submitting your app form, CV and certificate details.
Thats my understanding of it...

Posted By STEPHEN81 Thanks for the reply Gordon,
may wait for Grad IOSH after the PG CERT. In the mean time, join IIRSM, seems weird that after 4 years in safety still can't get Tech IOSH.

Posted By Ian Mitchell Hi Stephen
techIOSH is not the entry level membership grade. It is just the lowest grade that permits postnominals.
I know it may be frustrating, but five years (not necessarily full time) experience seems reasonable.
The main bugbear is that you can spend your working life techIOSH but all the experience under the sun won't take you any further..
