Posted By Helen Flinn Hi All
I know opinion is split about if FWs should get paid, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there a benchmark/average figure that companies do pay?
Thanks

94 views and no responses! So I thought you might be feeling lonely! I can't really help as 'we' fall into the 'we don't pay fire wardens' bracket. I wouldn't even have entered my mind that we would to be honest, but from your post I assume that some employers must do. I wouldn't even begin to guess on a benchmark figure - sorry.

Posted By Robert Cameron I am one of 6 fire wardens in my workplace. None of us receive any extra payment for this. Although the company do pay the first aiders a £150 one off payment in December and most fire wardens are also first aiders.

Posted By A Campbell We pay our FA and fire wardens a quarterly payment via payroll... it is also pro rata with regards to long term sickness absence & maternity leave etc.

Posted By FAH No disrespect intended to Helen or her intial respondants - but this topic has been debated on almost a monthly basis with loads of responses ranging across the whole spectrum of opinion!
May I suggest that a search of the recent threads might yield the info sought?
