Posted By Andrew W It isn't quite as simple as that. There are a few factors to be considered including make and model, tower configuration etc. My advice would be to speak to the various hire companies who will be able to give you the exact details for the model of crane they hire. Could I ask why free standing height is so important,is it due to site constraints? Andy

Posted By Hossam Only a structural civil engineer can answer this question by caculations based on many factors (intended capacity, boom radius, wind, dimensions of steel elements of the tower, bearing soil capacity....etc)

Posted By alex mccreadie Prads As Andrew says any Competent Tower Crane Hirer will be able to give you all the details you require. Most of them have their own Technical Engineering department to ensure what they offer is capable of carrying out the work required. As a backup they have the full assistance of the Crane Manufacturer,s Technical Department if required. Regards Alex
