Posted By Safety First Does anybody know where I can find a DVD to include as part of an asbestos awareness presentation. Given that the target audience will be 40- 60 year old maintenance workers I am looking for one that does not cause upset as I have had comments back that the HSE presentations can be too upsetting for those who are worried due to having worked with asbestos in their earlier working days. (Not with our company I hasten to add)

Posted By Liz Maw I have used the downloadable video from the HSE website on our asbestos awareness training. It is upsetting in that a real person is dieing and it is affecting him and his family and asbestos awareness training is one of the few safety training sessions I have struggled with in terms of "pink and fluffy and fun". It's a serious subject and like you I've done this training to electricians who've been working for 20, 30, 40 years and have probably been exposed at various stages in their career. The one message I try to get over to them is they can't change what has happened in the past but from here on in they need to make sure they have zero exposure. Have a look at the HSE website www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos

Posted By gerry d We use `How are you today`. Its a few years old but it is effective. I work in the industry and I lost my own father to lung disease so I can speak with some experience.
