I am interested in enrolling for a 18001 course but not sure whether to go for a Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, Awareness and then perhaps the conversion course. Bearing in mind I am a consultant and will have to pay for the course and lose fees for days off, which course do you believe will be the most value for money and why?
Thank you in anticipation.

I think the question you need to ask yourself is what do you want at the end of this. If you want to go out and perform independent audits, working for one of the accreditation organisations, then I would suggest Lead Auditor. If you want to just improve your understanding then the normal auditor / awareness training would suffice.
I know it is 5 days out but I went for the Lead Auditor's qualification and then did the conversion to 9/14000, which was a couple of extra days each.
Think about what you want to do, then look at the specifications for each and then see if they cover what you want to do. If so then go for it.
