Posted By Nigel Thomas Hello All Has anyone got or knows where I can get some examples of a distribution warehouse manual handling policy document/draft. I have to draft a copy for our warehouse, thanks in anticipation. Best Regards, Nigel.

Posted By FAH Hi Nigel I'm sure that you'll get loads of offers of material from a wide range of helpful people on this. However, may I suggest that you bear in mind that all H&S documentation should be specifically focussed at what you actually do in your distribution warehouse because anything else simply won't be relevant - and therefore potentially dangerous to the individuals & the company itself. Posted By A Campbell Nigel, Have to agree with Frank. A good source of what needs to be in your policy is to look at your risk assessment, refer to it and possibly also target any residual risks also? This will help in establishing everyone's roles and responsibilities in ensuring the policy is adequately implemented... not forgetting regular auditing for it's effectiveness!

Posted By Nigel Thomas Thanks both for taking the time to respond, I fully understand your points. If was a format/layout ideas that I am looking for not to copy someone else's content. I'm well aware that any policy can only be for my own warehouse.

Posted By simondean1976 Hi Nigel, See if you can get a copy of: HSG76 - Warehousing and storage: A guide to health and safety. I belive it has some sample Manual Handling Assessments, if not it will give you some good information and starting point. Si
