Does it matter where the PAT test label is placed on electrical equipment following testing?
ie if its on the plug and not the equipment the plug may be changed

Posted By Lukasz It does not matter were it is placed but...
when plug might be changed you need to ensure the person which done it is competent... and appliance is safe to use after that so probably re-inspection

The label isn't really the issue; it's the ability of the owner of the equipment to provide suitable unique identifiers to each item that really matters. This is in order to provide auditable evidence that what is claimed to have been done is what has actually been done - 'cos the tester shouldn't just charge for xxx numbers of items - they should be identifiable [& listed by identifier] from a safety but also financial control point of view.
Labels, in the UK, are not essential although they do provide an immediate visual clue as to when, & by who, the PAT was done.

Posted By tdunbar Could be mainman that you have two electrical items here. The unit and the power lead if it is removable type. If so I would expect to see an ID label on each.
