Posted By johnwaterson2773 Morning all, I am aware that there are times when individuals will have to work on their own and what measures have to be in place. My question is: If two engineers are tasked to work in a building, one goes into one room while the other is working in the next, would you be classed as lone working. It is something that has been raised and before I go back with my answer thought I would sound out what others think. I say no as still in the immediate area if something was to happen and one or the other required assistance in the event of an accident etc. Thank John

Posted By Stuff4blokes John, your scenario is little different to that experienced by many, many thousands of workers every day in individual offices, except your colleagues exposure to harm may (or may not) be greater than the office staff. If there is significant exposure to danger then somethings will need to be done to reduce the exposure. Otherwise, communication and mutual support.
