Hi all
When a person is having back problems carrying out consistently manual handling activities, and is off sick, would this be classed as an health issue or an accident? the person might not be able to pin-point a specific time when the pain occurred more gradual over a shift. Where would this be recorded? Is there a difference between the two?

firstly you have to identify if the back problem is actually work related or not. If not then the question is mute. If so, then it should be recorded as an accident as it has injured someone (ie the back pain).
