Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a presentation regarding violence against staff / conflict resolution I could have a look at ? Or know of any appropriate courses ?
I've just joined a new firm and there is a huge problem with street vendors getting attacked verbally and physically and need to get some training / awareness done asap. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi, agree with last posting stuff is good..you could also ask your local police if they can give a talk, information, etc. to this group of obviously vulnerable staff.
cheers

City and guilds do a 1 day Conflict Management course. I have used this a couple of times in previous companies and found it very good, the feedback from the staff who attended was also good. Google it and you should fine course providers in your area.

They hand out a lot of the free papers here in London, based around tube and train entrances mainly.

Do you think they are using aggressive sales tactics eliciting a similar response from irritated commuters.

Heathrow,
I used to work as a conflict management instructor training security officers and door supervisors for their national licence qualifications.
If you'd like to contact me via info@managementandsafety.co.uk (or ring me on 07771 538985) I might be able to help.
Regards,
Andy Farrall

Maybo also do a one day course on Conflict Management which includes scenarios (they can also do a 5 day "train the trainer" course which is accredited by City and Guilds). Having done both courses, found the information extremely interesting and well presented. Staff that have been on both courses also commented that they enjoyed the course(s) and found it relevant to the work undertaken.
