Eddie,
What business are you in, do you have a wide mix of employment roles?

As Alan mentions, it depends on the company and the work.
We provide a multi-level induction and the general health & safety presentation covers the following topics:
Why we manage health and safety.
Legislative requirements.
The University’s Emergency Procedures.
Procedures for the reporting and investigation of accidents and what causes accidents.
The University’s arrangements for the management of health and safety.
Basic risk assessment principles.
It takes two hours.
More specific inductions are then given by the employing department.

As already mentioned, it depends on the nature of the work and the inherent risks. The induction should also take into account the local environment, including fire and emergency arrangements, welfare facilities and so on.
In a previous role I used to inform new starters that the biggest risk they face is walking from one department to another through the car park. Not officially part of the induction but nevertheless a fact.
