hello all, am new to this site and really need some help. Can anyone tell me if it is against any health and safety regulations to open and secure open emergency fire exits as long as they aren't being used as access and egress, but purely for better ventilation on hot days.
thank you Karl

Simple - if these are fire exits only then there is no issue with keeping them open so long as they are secured so do not cause a risk with blow back in windy conditions etc - could be argued safer if kept open as easier to escape.
If these are fire doors intended to control smoke and fire then absolutley they should be kept shut or be able to be closed automatically in the case of a fire
hope this helps
