Posted By Susan MacDonald Is there a difference between the CSCS card and CITB card. I have drivers who use a CITB card to access construction sites to deliver plant. They took the CITB health and safety test, and this is now due for renewal. Do i book the health and safety test through CITB or CSCS? Thanks

Posted By Adrian Woon Hello Susan Could you clarify CITB Card; do you mean the CPCS Card - Construction Plant Certification Scheme Card?

Posted By Susan MacDonald Hi Adrian, The drivers did the health and safety test in site safety through CITB (construction skills). They had to do this h&s test to allow them access to a construction site to deliver or collect plant. When I went online, I noticed there is a CSCS card which can be used for visitors to construction sites. Now i am wondering which h&s test to book them in for CITB or CSCS - is there a difference between the two or are they the same.

Posted By Adrian Woon Hi Susan The visitors CSCS Card will allow your drivers on to site to deliver and collect materials / equipment etc. However, I have not come across the "CITB Card". Sorry that this is not much help.

Posted By Adrian Woon Susan I stand under correction, but I think CSCS is a separate organisation.

Posted By jon_hall If it's plant related it will probably be CPCS cards. This usually covers people actually using the plant on site not delivering it but more and more are asking for drivers who are delivering only to have CPCS cards to gain access to the site. It's as if the likes of the CSCS H & S test is the best thing in the world. Probably the easiest test ever i've seen and i have the mighty visitors card. People physically working on site in more danger get the same basic test, my opinion is it's a waste of time and money but not the powers that be...

Posted By RP CSCS or CPCS is managed by CITB. CSkills is the Sector Skills Council for construction.
