Posted By Nicholas Sutcliffe I'm sure this has been raised numerous times, but to save me time trawling through past threads I'll just ask. What are the legal requirements for PAT testing? is it a legal requirement? if so how often? i seen to be getting conflicting reports from my directors and companies offering their services.

Posted By Lukasz It is not legal requirement. It is accepted as best practice to prove that you maintain your electric equipment in working order. You do not have to PAT test your equipment, but, you may be required to prove that equipment used during for example accident was safe to use and it's condition did not contributed to accident. For legal requirement check here: http://www.pat-testing.info/legal.htm Regards LK

Posted By Peter Still OK, I'll be the first... There is no legal duty to have PAT testing performed. There is a duty under EAWR and PUWER to ensure that equipment is inspected at suitable intervals and maintained in a safe condition. PAT testing can, when competently performed, for a useful element of an inspection regime. It can also reject perfectly good equipment that has high leakage currents due to EMC filters, and can miss dangerous equipment such as exposed live parts, if the tester relies on the test results alone. On [reference removed] you can create a profile freely advertising your services and availability, Chat instantly with other members through the sites instant messenger or through the discussion forums. With hundreds of HSE jobs being listed from around the world on the RSS Feeds or from the many big agencies posting on the forums [reference removed] has more HSE Jobs than any other site on the Net. If you are a HSE Trainer create an event and advertise course places. People can join your event and leave comments or ask questions. They can also view who else is attending your event and communicate with them. The business directory page is now live and we will constantly be adding to it.
