Posted By dave marshall Hi all Could somebody please confirm how a mobile tower is meant to be fixed to a building to prevent movement? as today i stopped a job when i discoverd a tower was tied by two pieces of rope (thin rope)to the steelwork of a building. without outriggers!!!! (sorry i am not PASMA trained) also does anyone know of a good source of guidance when using a horizontal 20mtr safety line. cheers

Posted By laugar Dave if the tower is erected in line with the manufacturer's instructions (that should come out with the tower) it will give you the correct height to erect the tower before you need to use outriggers and the maximum height it can go up to try calling the hire shop if no information is on site ,but first of all i would be looking to find out how your site has got in that position was there a risk assessment and m/s in place ,was the person pasma trained who erected the tower what level of supervision is on site hope this helps
