Posted By cres Hi, I am an experienced H&S Manager and I have the following qualifications NEBOSH Nat Gen NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Manager' and C&G 7303 I deliver various basic H&S Courses in house. I know I have enough qualifications to deliver CIEH Courses in a freelance capacity. But my question is am I qualified enough to deliver fire marshal courses as well and is there a board out there like CIEH that allows you to deliver there courses for a fee or is it acceptable to use your own self designed course ??

Posted By William O'Donnell Not sure if this has changed, but I thought that you needed to be registered with the CIEH to deliver their courses? As for Fire Marshal training, I have never been quite sure what people expect from these. Surely the role of the Fire Marshal is detailed in your individual emergency evacuation procedure, and so could vary greatly from one organisation to another. What you require specifically from your Fire Marshals should indicate if you feel 'competent' to deliver their training.

Posted By Pez Hargreaves I have the same quals as yourself and feel I am qualified to train our Fire Marshalls, after all, all I am doing is re-enforcing our own company procedures, I do talk about the fire triangle, human behaviour, means of escape etc. I personaly think the quals are adequate.

Posted By Pete Sutton Im not 100% certain, especially with regards to Fire.. but i have the same reservations when i am asked to deliver Mobile Tower training. It is a misconception that everything has to be PASMA approved etc...(Even though i have PASMA ticket myself and used to teach the course for the CITB. The way i guage the validity of my training delivery is that in the event of an accident, would my competence (Quals & Experience) stand up in court.. If my answer is yes, i would confidently go ahead and deliver the training... PS: I too would like to start delivering Fire training
