Posted By samanthah We have a heavy weight plastic slated curtain/tent i clear, which is attached to a moulding machine. So on three sides you have plastic and on the other a plastic injection moulding machine. The space is limited but you can push the panels to get out, there is a top which holds the air con unit and you need special cleanroom suit for this area. Ok I now need to do a risk assessment for this area people are complaining that its a confined space I say no but still people are not happy (no change there) what would you call this area?

Posted By Flic I would call it something like a booth or enclosure. People may well think it is a bit claustrophobic, but in the UK it would not be defined as a confined space unless it was a place where in addition to its enclosed nature they were at risk from any of these: serious injury due to fire or explosion loss of consciousness due to a rise in body temperature loss of consciousness or asphyxiation arising from gas, fume, vapour or lack of oxygen drowning due to increase in level of liquid asphyxiation from a free-flowing solid.
