Posted By MICK MEAD, CMIOSH Does anyone have any experience of Environmental Permits? I am looking into what the permits need to cover, and the system for applying for permits. I can see that a permit would be needed for discharges into sewers, but someone mentioned a Consulation Document on Odour Management. Not an area I have ever been involved in, so I would be grateful if I could get some insight into the requirements. Mick

Posted By Bob Youel Mick Is this not a case of bringing in a competent person to help? I note all the time that for other professions its OK to bring in support or commission advice etc but when its H&S or Env areas people think that its easy so its tagged onto a persons job description if this was finance would people be gong it alone? I am not in any way implying anything but just making a comment

Posted By Heather Collins Mick. The exact circumstances under which you require a permit are not simple and depend on the type of industry you are in and also what your emissions to atmosphere, water and land actually are - both in type and amount.
