Posted By Mharrycatt Afternooon all, We are looking at carrying out workshops to promote safer driver behaviour within our organisation, and would be looking to use a crash test dummy as a prop. Does anyone know where such an item can be resourced? Ebay has not come up trumps (many references to the band though). Thanks in advance.

Posted By Dave Merchant I assume you have an unlimited budget - an ATD (anthropomorphic test device) will set you back around £75,000 for the basic two-point models, to over £150,000 for the new ones with facial sensors. That's not including the hardware and software for extracting the telemetry, and the maintenance costs. Every crash test lab has a whole other lab next door just to keep their posse of ATDs calibrated. What exactly do you want to do with it?

Posted By Mharrycatt Thanks so much for the responses, these have been really useful. Perhaps I was being somewhat naive in relation to the costs - sadly I do not have an unlimited budget! We want to use it to demonstrate sitting correctly within car seats - though may have to go back to the drawing board for a significantly cheaper option.

Posted By Dave Merchant In which case, you may want to look at the articulated first aid dummies like Rescue Randy - still around £500, but nothing compared to an ATD, and you stand a better chance of finding one second-hand.

Posted By Peter Zunda and look for an artist's (full sized!) mannequin! These are fully adjustable but watch out, many available are only 12" tall ...
