Posted By Ian Mitchell Hi all I know this thread was discussed at great length some considerable time ago, but I cannot locate it on the search facility. Can anyone dredge it up from the archives? If not, a guy of ours needs to work in a mosque, but the proprietors request that he removes his safety footwear. What was/ is the consensus? Regards

Posted By Swis provided the safety boots are clean (free from dirt) then there's no issue.

Posted By Phil Rose There clearly is an issue as "the proprietors request that he removes his safety footwear" I could be ,missing something though.

Posted By Swis The issue is of cleanliness, otherwise there’s no restriction of taking shoes inside mosque. The use of new/clean shoes is the solution here. (Can also use ‘overshoe’).

Posted By Phil Rose Having spent quite a lot of time working in the middle east/Muslim countries I am well aware of the 'rules' and requirements for visiting Mosques. As I said, there clearly is an issue for the 'proprietor' of this mosque, who has already said 'no'. There are ways around this, can I suggest overshoes, but there clearly is an issue or I an wouldn't have posted and posed his question.

Posted By Amanda Chew I agree with my colleagues above. Having provided a repairs service to mosques I cannot understand why clean overshoes are a problem. You need to explain to the client that it is a duty to protect your workforce and that you will treat the mosque with respect and ensure that the safety shoes are clean and the overshoes are clean.
