Hi
I am currently helping out a charitable organisation where there is no mains electricity and the only supply is by a diesel powered generator.
Can anyone tell me if all the same regs apply i.e. electricity at work regs and IEE 17th edition or is there anything else I need to take into consideration?
Any advice much appreciated.

Electricity kills so irrespective of how a supply is generated/supplied etc its management etc should be based on sound principals e.g. EAW applies with IEE being a guide to follow

There are several health and safety challenges with the use of Diesel Generator.
Your safety approach should cover smoke generation, Noise issue and ventilation of the area. Inadequate management of this three safety issues may endanger wellbeing of people around.
Moreover, contigency plan on managing possible oil spills and fire outbreak that may occur from the use of the generator.
Please ensure that Voltage rating of the Generator must conform to the required standard.
