Kindly update me with permissible maximum hours of driving trucks at a stretch before observing rest in UK, USA, New Zealand and Canada. Wish to use this for a project in Nigeria.
Grateful for the update.

UK regulations (same throughout Europe – EU Regulation 561/2006) is not exceeding more than 4.5 hours and then a break of 45 minutes.
Canada and US - Never found anything to say the maximum time of driving without a break, only the maximum hours of driving in a shift i.e. US is a maximum of 11 hours in 14 hours. For US check the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as that might provide the details you need. I think Canada is similar although 13 hours in 14 rings a bell. Try the Canadian Depart of Transport as I’m sure they might have the information somewhere.
Oz – Used to be 30 minutes every 5 hours
NZ – Used to be 30 minutes every 5 ½ hours
Hope that helps

Another point to consider, is the working time directive could reduce the driving time below 4.5 hours before a break is required if the driver has been performing other duties before driving.
