Does anyone have a standard spec on temporary lifting lugs or point me in the direction of maybe a calculation for this type of thing please.
We need to occasionally weld a lifting lug onto an ingot for removing/placing in a furnace. It would only be carried out when the melt has gone wrong and the ingot needs to be brought out part way through the melting process and then lowered back into the furnace later for re-melt. The lifting lugs would stay in the furnace and become part of the raw material.
