When removing pressure treated timber at the end of its useful life, are there any special PPE requirements? This timber has been treated with arsenic in common with many others.
The timber is being disposed of as hazardous waste so there are no issues on this aspect,

Check out HSE leaflet (free download) Arsenic and You. You should consider protection against skin contact and also if wood has dried out respiratory protection. In the past I have also ensured local washing facilities are available. Hope this helps

Thanks David,
I had a look at the leaflet earlier but don't seem to be able to get it up on screen again. Also checked out another document relating to the wood in playgrounds which mentions disposal but nothing about PPE.
The material is described as low risk and the timber is wet through and being removed by hand rather than sawing so I'm not expecting any dramas.
I'm more comfortable now I've seen your comments,
