Posted By cres What would you do in my situation???? I am lucky enough to be working as a H&S Advisor for a super company that allows me to work part time hours to suite me, as long as the job is done to the highest standard then they don't mind when i do it. I have recently gained my C&G 7303 PPTLS and have held my Nat Gen for 5 years in my role I have been training staff for many years. Now I have 2 opportunities one is to start studying for my diploma self financed but have the time to study as my 3 children are now all at school. Or and my boss is fine with this: Register with the CIEH to deliver various Level 1 &2 courses on a freelance basis either at customers sites or open courses at a hotel if enough interest. As my job is flexible enough. However finance isn't great so i have the money to finance one or the other but I'm slightly concerned that if i spend my money on financing the cieh courses and then find there is not a great demand i have then spent the money i would use to do the diploma. To all trainers out there is there much demand for the lower level courses?? or would I be better of studying so that in a couple of years I can teach a much wider variety of courses and so have a bigger customer base. Either Way eventually I wish to deliver courses on a self employed basis full time. My boss is happy as they too started up on their own many years ago and are happy for me to work for them until i no longer wish to so i have financial security. WHAT WOULD YOU DO ???????

Posted By Steve Rhodes Cres Its a no brainer really - you would struggle to make a living doing only level 1 & 2 CIEH courses and you would probably be bored to tears. Go for the better qualification and make the most of your opportunities
