Posted By PH2 Hi Abby, The HASAWA is almost identical to the Health and Safety at Work Order (ni) 1978. THe only notable exception is that section 37 of the Act does not have a similar section in the Order (long boring political history) Apart from that all other H&S legislation is the same. Some of the earlier Regulations took an extra year or two to be implemented in Northern Ireland, but again that was because of the unique political set up here. Of late, the legislation has been enacted with approx. six months. The enforcement and penalties are the same, except that we have the HSENI (Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland). Here is a link to their site. http://www.hseni.gov.uk/ Regards
