Spray painting in open space ,what respiratory system is required??

Dear All
We are spray painting in open space what respiratory protection is required?i don't think only 3M dust mask to be suitable for that?
Any Idea??

What sort of paint are you using? Your MSDS may give you a starting point (although not necessarily judging by the standard of some).

A dust mask is unlikely to be adequate. The required RPE will depend, amongst other things, on the paint being used; can you give more details?

There is so much more information needed.
What types of materials are you spraying? Isocyanates? Powders? Are the materials classified as hazardous under CHIP etc?
How good is ventilation?
How long, how much are they exposed.
etc................
There is no yes/no answer.
This is a classic scenario for assessment of risk (I would follow the HSE COSHH essentials approach if you are in doubt).

working up wind will help and have you considered environmental contamination as that may be your biggest risk?
