Posted By robin stowell The company I work for is based in the UK and designs electrical generation equipment (usually combining the major components from a catalogue into a bespoke system). The deliverable to the Client is a set of CAD and engineering drawings which they then manufacture/assemble in a foreign country, often India or China. If the project was UK based we would clearly be categorised as Designers under the CDM definitions and subject to such requirements as providing a design risk assessment/register. As our product is used outside the UK, is CDM still applicable?

Posted By AHS Not as straightforward as it would seem British Citizens can be punished for crimes committed in other juristictions if those crimes are punishable under UK law. Unlikely with CDM however.
