Posted By brian pyle I have been asked by my company to take a look at one of our customers storage areas .They have constructed their own racking system ,which has been in place for many years holds up to 700 drums, but recently they have had h/safety consultants in , and they have condemned them .Has anyone any advice on how to go about checking that the racking is capable of holding the loads concerned ?

Posted By Chris121 any decent racking inspection company will be able to work out the safe working loads of the racking and tell you whether it is acceptable for its current use - I would always advise having an external check of such issues as in the event of an incident you have some defense to fall back on
