Just finished reading above article in the IOSH mag, which prompted me to pose this question:-
We do an induction for the 'child' coming onto our sites but how useful would a simple exit questionnaire be? Plus more importantly what questions to ask on this exit poll and would those questions show up weaknesses in the safety regime allowing for the fact the child has no previous experience in the workplace to compare against?
Your opinions pls.

Just finished reading John Twigg's letter on page 21 "Trouble in the message centre".
I suggest the same issue applies in principle- things are lost in translation across age barriers just as they are across culture and languages.
Both the induction process and any feedback question set would best be prepared by someone with experience working with that age group and who has a real grasp of their development, language skills, vocabulary, etc.
A useful area for HSE and Industry to conduct continuing research methinks. I wonder if there are any research reports already in the public domain?
