If you are a training organisation and provide accommodation for trainees and an individual were to die from what is believed to be natural causes whilst in the accommodation, would this be reportable to the HSE as a work-related death?
Thanks for any replies in advance

If you were a plumber but on a sailing holiday in the UK and you collapsed drowning in the broken shower cubicle you were attempting to mend would that be reportable?

Back to the original question.
If you are ever in any doubt about the need to report a death, injury or dangerous occurrence, it is generally better to report something that is later found to be non-reportable than to not report something that should have been reported.

Ken.
I don't think that that approach is very popular with some of the posters on this forum. I totally agree with you, but some of the Sgts Mess Senior Bar Members don't. ;-)

Thanks, Larry.
The approach has worked well for me and I've been in H&S since before RIDDOR was invented.
