Looks very good.Lets start sharing best practice amongst ourselves to raise the bar on all HSE aspects and to prove to all including the newspapers out there that we will drive good sensible health and safety.

My user name is now my e-mail address?? Just me, so must be my fault :o/

Safety, no it is not just you. The change caught me out too. I couldn't remember if I had used my home, work, or consultant email.

I think the "User Name" email addresses need to be hidden, members will be spammed to death!

OK, lets give it a go... Who am I?
I know who I used to be, but I appear to have changed my name when IOSH webteam E Mail me with instructions on 'changing' password ... A format guide would be useful when asked to enter date of birth.

can i change my user name? - I don't like the one which has been assigned (I don't think I chose it....). Where do i fond the 'manage your identity' bit on the site?
And can I hide my 'groups' - since they are largely peripheral to most of my work these days...

No problems at all with my name.

I was sure that my login name was same for MyIOSH and forums.
I log on via MyIOSH. MyIOSH still has my old login name in the profile, yet I am logging on with the e-mail address.
And the forum profile/edit asks for my REAL NAME but does not use it :o/

Thought I better try this too and see what it shows for me. Although I have had a bit of a problem login in but not sure if that is down to the works server.

Had couple problems logging in but after very prompt response to query I was in. Looks easily navigated and I think the My CPD is much easier to use, I even updated mine while on!

just got this from the FAQs after trying in vain to hide my email
"Will other forum users see my email address?"
"No. Your email address isn't visible to other users. To contact another user outside of the forums, you'll need to send them a private message"
could someone please tell me how to sort it out!

Logged on today for the first time since the change over. Had a bit of a job logging on - system wouldnt recognise my email address - could have been my works system scanning my use (Police) big brother watching you. No problems now though - Like the CPD area simple to use and easy on the eyes. Well done.

Just a comment about the new site
The main page has a log in function but then does not tell you that you have logged in successfully.
To log out you then have to go to either My IOSH or to the Forums
Does not seem very logical
Might add it’s the same in both Explorer and Firefox

Just looked at the CPD page - it looks to be easier to access at least.
I tried to download the Word CPD templates but got the following message:
"The requested document is not available, or you don't have permission to view it."
Does the document actually exist please?

And why am I not getting line feeds on the posted message?
Even pressing it twice!
I don't even get them on the Preview...

The colours are ok, only thing is I appear to have a "chosen by someone else log name and number" and on my details section I am unable to change it, however the look and ease of use of the site is far more user friendly. Well done to all at IOSH and their tech support.

I am really struggling with the forum page - WHERE DO YOU OPEN A NEW POSTING??????
The search isn't working but maybe this is a result of the transfer not being fully over yet.
Hopefully just teething problems and normal forum service will be resumed soon

Martin Right at the top of this page are two blue buttons - the left one is "New Topic", the other is "Post Reply". Try the "New Topic" ... that should do it for you :-)

Martin,
How did you get those line feeds to work???
Have we lost the auto-generated email notification, or have I just not found it?

For email notification I selected watch topic which gives you a page in your MyIOSH and also seems to send email notification
Re other materials on where the buttons should be - all makes sense but I don't have them on my page
Are there other ways to enter the forum - I am clicking the button at the very top of the page to get in - some guys are talking about a MyIOSH log in and a forum login is there something there do we think - I am only logged in to MYIOSH

And why does it keep logging me out! Is there a 'keep me logged in' button? This lack of line spacing is really annoying...

Just checking how I appear on the forum.
Not sure why we have different log ins for the forums and myIOSH to access CPD. Surely we could have one sign in for both? My brain is already addled!
Like the look of the new site though...

I don't even get them on the Preview... Hi ashoskins - we're looking into this - if you use the 'quick reply' feature, carriage returns work. Thanks, Tom

Well done to all at IOSH and their tech support. Hi Fowler38828 - we'd really like forum users to able to change their own screen names, if they want to. So we're looking into this and I'll get back to you as soon as we can with an update. We generated screen names for IOSH members who didn't use the old forums. We also generated screen names for IOSH members, if we weren't able to match-up their forum and MyIOSH account details. I'm really pleased you like the new forums! Thanks, Tom
