3 weeks working for you....FREE and LEGAL

Hi As an incentive to any prospective employer it is possible for me to work for 15 days for zero payment. Also after this period, if a position is offered then a subsidy will be payable to the employer for 13 weeks. This is arranged through JobCentre Plus. I have worked as a foreman in the construction industry, mainly utilities, for over 20 years. Recent redundancy has edged me in the direction I have been looking towards for several years, Health and Safety. I am expecting the results for my Nebosh Construction Certificate this week and will be taking the Nebosh Certificate in Environmenatl Management on 8th December. Both self funded. I have N.R.S.W.A, C.S.C.S and various other course certificates. My last 13 years were spent with two of the largest construction companies in the U.K. With the redundancies looming I was allowed to spend my final 3 months working alongside the Health and Safety advisor carrying out assessments, inspections, audits etc. I believe this has given me a solid foundation to build upon, along with my vast eperience in the Industry. If you feel I lack advisory experience but view my overall Industry experience as an asset then please consider the above options, what have you got to lose? I am based in the West Midlands but have my own transport and will travel nationally. For any further information please pm me usink the tab below or email me at dazandjayne@hotmail.co.ukKind regards Darren

Bit more than just the A & T wrong way round...........!
Try watching how you spell experience! You have an x missing near the end of your third para.
Mods, how about getting a spell check sorted for the new forums?

Hi again,
Just wanted to clarify the legal issues raised by clairel who posted today also. All would be dealt with by Jobcentre Plus so liability wouldn't be a problem for employer/employee.

Hi Linda,
Not sure, but obviously I need to check to clear things up as it seems to have caused some debate in the other post, which is always good.
Just to let any prospective employers know....received results for N.C.C. today...pass with credit...209 points over the 3 units...needed 210 for distinction...how cruel are Nebosh?

Hi DNW, Is this the 'Work Trials' from the jobcentre? If so my understanding of it is a little bit different to yours. Firstly there needs to be a position which you've been accepted for, and only then can you do a Work Trial to see if you like the role and people there, giving you the option to try the job before you accept it without it effecting your benefits. Secondly I was told it was for upto 6 weeks (30 Days) but this would be rare and seen as the company taking a lend of the situation. Thirdly If a company is willing to undertake the 'Work Trials' the jobcentre sends out an individual to risk assess the work place before you start and ensure training is given. I think I'm right in saying that the Jobcentre cover liability. I know this because I only got the information yesterday. Do you have a downloaded copy of the 'Work Trial' letter which you can attach to your CV? If not I'll send you it by PM if you want it.
Good Luck in your job search, we both need it I think.

Hi Graham,
Was looking on the directgov website earlier and presume it is the work trials scheme though I will be checking later, I was just given basic details at the job centre. Thanks for the offer of sending the letter but I can download it.
Cheers
Darren
