Help please - do schools have to display "No Smoking Signs" at all entrances. I thought they were exempt but cannot confirm this on any education websites. Does anyone have the answer or can steer me in the right direction, please.

Joe,

The school is not exempt from this legislation.

In fact from a pure public health perspective, they have an added duty of care due to the presence of vulnerable people.

I think you may be referring to the voluntary ban in school grounds that many schools and LA's have put in force.

I guess it depends what you mean by the term "entrances", does it refer to the gate into the grounds, or the actual building door?
