I am only aware of EH 40 'Occupational Exposure Limits', which should cover heavy metals and other hazardous substances. Available from the HSE website.

I seem to recall a European website for hazardous substances but cannot remember it at present.

Is it worth a card? :)

Just a small word of caution about EH40 - it focuses on inhalation, which may not be the key route of entry here. It also has a lot of gaps, so that there are many hazardous substances that are not listed.

The OSHA website is helpful for filling in some of the gaps.

They have a page on tunneling, but heavy metals don't seem to be mentioned:

What is the cause for concern here? What was the previous use of the area?
