Hi,

Just a short one, we are looking to add some form of Anti Slip substance ie paint ect to a metal fire escape which is also used by children. With this in mind does anyone have any experience/advice with regard as the best to use?

You can get anti slip paints readily from many suppliers, try google search. As its in a child friendly area do ensure the MSDS is accurate, especially where reds and yellows are concerned.

Rocol do hi-viz tread and riser grips. Expensive though.

I've see a firm of multi-storey car park manufacterers use masking tape, glue, fine builders sand to good effect. Not sure the glue they used, it was written in German.

Hi Spud
Have a similar case - we have opted to fit anti slip treads. Expesive, not really when the manufacturers cut them to size and they simply bolt on and can be used straight away

My only experience of non-slip paint is of the persistant smell for a few days after application so you might want to plan the work for a Friday evening
