Hi All,
Happy New Year.
Does anyone recommend any good software that is suitable for Risk assessment in a chemical factory environment?
Alternatively, if any one has RA templates either excel or word based, could you please forward a copy to me?
Thanks,
Baskaran

I am not quite sure what you are looking for; I hope not a piece of software that DOES' the assessment for you! The best software for that is sitting between your ears!
As far as recording the assessment goes, depending on the type of assessment, then either Word, Excel or similar should be adequate.

I agree with Phil... What are you traing to assess? I would point you in very different directions for software to help with HAZOP than for a template for a VDU assessment. The HSE website is probably a good place to start, lots of free guidance and templates? www.hse.gov.uk

I am not asking for software to do the risk assessment. Right now I have about 100s of risk assessments and all are maintained manually. What I am looking for a programme to store all the RA's and able to trigger the user when the assessment is due for review, set implementation plans for the actions identified in the RA's etc. If I Google, there are many companies appearing in the search but I want some one to recommend if they use such software. Thanks for your answer anyway. Regards, Baskaran

If you are looking for Document control software, I have used a product called Q-Pulse from Gael Quality for 15 years and find it excellent for Document Control and I also use it to control my Corrective Actions. (I am in no way related to Gael Quality other than a long term customer).

Baskaran, I've used this for a number of years; http://www.dyadem.com/products/phapro/You can develop a 'library' of risk assessments as you generate them. With use, the software 'learns' the hazards and risks that you use, and it presents you with the appropriate ones as options as you type the first few letters (a great time saver). You can customise it to use the risk matrix that your company uses, record atendees/sessions, etc... I have no affiliation with the company. Regards, Ross
