Hi all, I am doing some work on LPG cylinders being used on a warehousing site. Many of the HSE documents refer to the LPG Association (or their most recent incarnation) Codes of Practice. I have Code of Practice 7 which is a generic document, which then refers you to other more specific codes, such as CoP24 part 6 - for commercial premises. Does anyone have experience of both documents and is able to tell me whether there are any significant differences. I do not really want to have to buy 24:6 just to find out it regurgitates similar information but just adds basic H&S requirements. Thanks A.

Hi, In our business we have used the British Compressed Gases Association Code of Practice 7. After consulting the HSE we then met with a representative from the BCGA and have included their guidance into our own procedures. We found CoP7 sufficient for our needs; however we are only concerned with the use of portable cylinders and associated maintenance requirements. Hope that helps. If not let me know? Alex

I think you should read the Mods message as don't photocopy it! Which is not what I was after - Am happy to buy it, if I really need it. Alex, thanks for sharing your experience with the BCGAs Codes - I will look into these.
