Dear All, I would like your views on should a Group /Site level policies & a separate supporting operational template documents be duplexed printed? My Line manager a Board Director & Safety Champion for the Group would like to see all policies and operational template documents be duplexed printed in the attempt to save paper? My argument is this legal as a powerful document for the group and should remain for all policies and operational template documents to be on single pages with the exception of pages such as H&S arrangements that are on 2 pages. The operational template docs would be diffilcult as some documents go from landscape to portrait documents. My question as a legal document can it be duplexed printed as I feel it will lose it creditability. Regards Ian

ian - only difficulty I can see is if you were to post them on the wall. People turning sheets etc. The main issue is to have these documents in place and they are communicated to the workforce. Does not matter how you print them!. David

Most of mine are held 'electronically' on the intranet site but when I print them I usually print 'back to back'. I certainly wouldn't even begin to consider that this was 'illegal' (i.e. yes it is legal to do so) and nor do I think it loses any credibility. I am all for saving circa 50% in paper.

There is no problem with duplex printing whatsoever. As an LA officer, I see policies and RAs day in, day out, and very few *aren't* printed double-sided. I'd consider it environmentally responsible to do so. Re your point about it being a legal document - my contract of employment is printed double-sided. I don't think that makes it any less valid.

Ian, I am really struggling to see your perspective here (and I didn't think I was "that" green). Can you (or someone else who understands) elaborate your position for me a bit in order that I might gain understanding. Thanks
