I'm planning on making a range of fabric household goods to sell (aprons, laundry bags, bunting, etc).
Are there specific regulations I need to meet for the aprons? Would I be able to market them as craft/household aprons rather than specifically for cooking and avoid fire safety regs? Could I use a fire retardant spray to treat them - would that be an acceptable level of cover?
Thanks for any help - I'm a complete novice so all advice very welcome. F

Fire retardant spray will wash out after several washes. In kitchens -in my opinion an apron is solely there to control infection and as long as its clean its ok

Only a partial answer (as this Standard isn't included in my subscription), but BS EN 1103:2005 'Textiles. Fabrics for apparel. Detailed procedure to determine the burning behaviour' sounds like the document you need to source.
