Hi, I'm reading through the Gas Safety(Installation and Use) Regs for details of maintenance requirements for pipework, fittings and appliances within a factory and what the minimum requirement for maintenance inspections by a Gas Safety Register Engineer? It only appears to say you must follow manufacturer requirements? This is pipework conveying gas from supplier meter station into our main boiler. Can anyone help with the requirements? Thanks

I understand that gas-tightness testing of the pipework back to the meter must form an integral part of the test and inspection regime of the appliance as undertaken by the Gas Safe Contractor. Actual test parameters will be dependent on the length and diameter of pipe involved. In a domestic situation this takes only a minute or two, in a commercial context it will take considerably longer to determine if the pipework is leak-tight.
