Been looking into acquiring Electronic Storage of H&S data (asset management, electronic accident book) etc.

Am interested in the opinions of members as to the validity of this types of systems. Thumbs up or down?

Different plant and equipment on multi sites but seen data suggesting that its not really had much take up. Wondering if its a lack of awareness or suitability?

I always think that it's odd that people question the validity of using electronic data storage for H&S.

Many companies do it for many things. Why not H&S? Let's drag H&S screaming and kicking into the current century!!! :-)

Just do not forget the scanner!

The storage system I use is just a file system that we extend as required. ( http://pod.iso.org/isostd/livelink?func=ll.index ) The really good thing about it is that is a quality control system as the same time. The system monitors all actions for each document, this means you know who has opened it, changed the documents, downloaded etc It also saves all previous documents so you can see all changes.

We still have original hard copies of documents but is is all scanned and uploaded. All I can say is if all my documents were hard copies I would require a warehouse.
