I have to deliver a presentation on "How will recent and future chnages in health and safety law and guidance impact on social care housing, its staff and service users."
Can anyone give me a few pointers to help get it started?

you need to be looking at Corporate Manslaughter, CDM regs and perhaps as far back as the COSHH 2004 amendments

You may want to mention the lakanal fire and the require to apply safety legislation to communal areas and also that social housing also means safe estates

How about the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and the effect on this to social care housing staff and users?

Don't forget all the maintenance issues such as Work at Height Regs 2005, Noise Regs 2005, Vibration Regs 2005. This has all changed the way contractors carry out (and price) their work.

As for the future, who knows, but I recall a new EU Directive regarding needlesticks and sharps for health workers...may be relevant?
