hi all
When working for short duration with aerosol spray in a well ventilated area or in a dusty environment what is the recommended dust mask, as usual the SMDS gives little information away.
would it normally be a FFP3 dispsable filter mask?
Cheers

I'd thoroughly recommend HSG 53 - Thanks Paul
It's certainly cleared up a number of issues and misunderstanding I had on the matter (excepting my HSG53 post on this forum !!)

I'm worried that no one as asked whats in the aerosol, as a particulate filter would not offer protection if there is a significant risk from vapours Regards Toby

Toby,
I think the question was generic, covering either an aerosol or a dust hazard.
The selection process in HSG 53 covers everthing really from the hazardous nature of the product to the circumstances of use and individual factors, so by following the guidance you tick all the boxes (and in our case even made us review whether RPE really was appropriate at all!!)
Regards
Jon
