Do you already have ISO9001? If so then talk to your Quality people, they will already have what you need.

Hi Mungry,
Good luck with the implementation of 18,001.
My immediate thoughts are:-
Why do you need to have a documented procedure for your internal audit process - if you check the standard you don't actually require a documented procedure. As long as you can demonstrate that you are meeting the requirements of the standard.
My advice, I'm no expert, but have been on 18,001 internal audit courses:-
make sure the audit programme is risk based so focus your resources in higher risk areas of the business, based on your risk assessments
have an audit schedule in place for the year - defining authority, responsibilities, timings, areas etc
have competent auditors
have a process for conducting, reporting and retaining the records from audits.
make sure your audit forms define scope frequency etc..
think there's something about impartiality too!! i.e. don't audit your own area etc...
cheers,
John
